Scopolia

This clump forming perennial is found wild from central and southeastern Europe to Russia. It has oval to oblong coarse, green leaves that have pointy tips. In early spring, tubular to bell-shaped flowers are borne singly in the leaf axils. They are pale yellow to brownish-purple with yellow insides. This plant grows up to 2 feet high and wide.


Pot Cultivation


Grow in fertile, very well-drained soil, in shade or partial shade. It is great for a woodland garden or beneath shrubs in a border.


Propagation


Seeds may be sown in the fall or the plants can be divided in the spring.
